One of the most incredible innovations we have come across is the hologram performance by the late rapper Tupac Shakur at the 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.
Using special effects technology, the hologram was created in four months by U.S. based production house Digital Domain. A 2D image image of Shakur was projected onto an angled piece of glass on the ground and then projected onto a screen on stage, evolving into a 3D illusion that thrilled festival goers.
This idea opens up exciting possibilities for live music. Imagine being in the audience at an awards show or at an end of year celebration waiting for the expected local act to perform. Then, out of nowhere Beyonce lights up the stage or musical legends U2 appear ready to rock…
A creation like this allows us to make the seemingly impossible, possible and turn an ordinary experience into something truly unforgettable.
