Setting a new standard for theatre fundraisers

Creation


Over fifteen years we have developed a creative partnership with Opera Australia, which began as a simple hire as event producers, through to our current full-blown creative collaboration on all their major events.

Over this time we have worked alongside them on gala events at numerous locations - such as Channel 7 studios, Hunter Valley Vineyards, and The Sydney Town Hall. Each year the brief is unique and requires a performance fit for a world-class opera audience. 

Evolution


We start with our collaborators - professional opera designers and directors - and set a theme and vision for the creation. We draw inspiration from seasons current and past, staging our creations with sets, props and costumes that could only be dreamed of!

Over the years, one highlight was bringing to life twelve metre ships ribs set pieces, which were hung from Sydney Town Hall. We have also used Australian-designed costumes as set pieces and staged the live auction as a mini fashion show.

We’ve also innovated when it comes to the technology required to deliver such an event. To do so we worked closely with IBM, who helped us to custom-write a silent auction computer system where guests can bid from their tables and see updates immediately on stage screens.

These projects all had the primary objective of raising funds for Opera Australia. Year on year, we delivered not only an exceeded fundraising target but also were able to breathe new life to an event which has been repeated with a similar audience for many years.

As a result, the wider arts industry look to Opera Australia as setting the standard in theatre fundraisers, and we’re proud to have contributed to such a fine institution over so many years.
